From a drag racing stand point(which I dont do) I have seen that the ATS 4.9 is a little too much gear for people making over 190whp(road race/auto-X it is phenominial, but I think that the JDM 4.7 is great for people wanting to go fast in a straight line, but dont want to shift into 5th at the end of the 1/4.

The JDM 4.7 is the best of both worlds if you ask me, and hard to come by too, some one needs to jump on this before there all gone.

any newbies that look at this thread, Mike(TypeRmsm) IPS racing, is no joke great customer service, and personal help, I have talked to mike at great lenghs about differant setups, he never steer's you wrong and unlike alot of shops(honda-tech sponsers excluded) really has a Passion for seeing your car at its full potential.

hope someone picks these up before I get my paycheck, because I might just buy one to have it in the future, now that no more B-series motors are made, look for OEM parts, JDM or USDM, to start to Rise,

Does anybody have any numbers on how this improves the performance on the Drag Strip? My mine gripe about our car is not enough low end grunt for stop and go traffic. Would I be a perfect candidate for this?

Just to clear things up...where will my RPMs be when I cruise at 80mph? I do a lot of highway driving so I don't want it insanely high. If I remember correctly, the difference is only around 200rpms. I would do a search but with the the # of topics on Final Drives is insane.

I did a search.

I read that one of the reasons that the JDM DC2-R has a different Final Drive is to compensate for the 16" wheels with 215/45/16. First of all, is there any truth to that statement? Now if I get the JDM Final Drive installed and get a JDM spec wheel/tire combo, won't I be offsetting the benefits of the JDM FD?

When running 16's, you will not change the ratio as long as you run the proper setup. USDM vs. JDM is only a .74% difference.

So in other words, there is no truth to the statement I posted?
