94 civic coupe trunk leak(NOT TAIL GASKETS)
when it rains or when i was my car i have a leak on the back right side and leftside of the trunk but the right side leaks worse , I took pulled carpet back on of my friends ex coupe and he had a drain tube or somthing. i didnt see one of these in my dx... coupe this be the cause? also it looks like its coming from close to the back seat windows when i look at it from the inside of the trunk behind the carpet on the inside of the body. I have searched but havent found anybody with this problem.
I used to have the same problem on my old ej, but that was because i reversed into a pole. Oops. During the daytime, or a well lit garage, take all the lining out of the trunk. Get in the trunk and close the lid, (obviously make sure someone can open it) and look around for light by the seals. The taillights is a common problem, especially if your running aftermarket lights.
water travels in mysterious ways.. the leak can be coming from anywhere.. get inside like he said.. and see where the water drips from.. hopefully u can maybe take the lights how and seal them or wherever it comes from
Mine leaked from the trunk. I pulled the rubber seal around the trunk, cleaned all the dirt, then put a bead of silicone around the border, then put the rubber seal back down on the bead. no leaks now

i think this is what i may have to do. So i can re-use the rubber seal after i pull it off of the trunk?
and i watched were the water would drain from. it's way up in the body as far as I can see, its somwhere around the back seat window's. i just cant see back there fare enough to see where its coming from..

My del sol used to leak in the trunk. It was coming in through the drivers side by the rear window. Water was getting in under the driver's side quarter panel, and there was a small hole on the inside of the trunk that the water just came right in though. I did a poor man's fix and duct taped it.
No problems since. I know you don't have a del sol, but it's still an eg.

how did u get to it to see the whole and to put duct tape in it. were u looking at it from the front or the rear, u have a sol so its gonna be a bit different there in the rear. sence u dont have a back seat, and I DO

stripped the trunk from the inside and practically broke my back all upside down looking. My carpet was wet there, so I knew the general area to start with.

i have the same issue with my 97 coupe....the tail lights are fine, sun roof drain are cleaned and re-installed.....still get a little bit of water in the trunk when i drive in the rain...i couldn't find the leak anywhere.....so this is what i did:
take off the lining in the trunk.....get some BBQ Charcoal and place in a bag and crush it up with a hammer...till its a fine dust.....then i apply the charcoal power on the areas near the leak.....and i found where its leaking.....(i think).....found a good drip mark near the rear....its one of the clips...(its the clip that is on each side of the bumper, holds the bumper up...i would of never thought it would leak from there.....)
going to seal that thing up good from the inside tomorrow.....hopefully it will help
