Tranny Fluid
I am about to change my tranny fluid on my 99 Si ( B16)
Should I go with genuine HOnda oil or something aftermarket???
Note: I dont do any racing...just a daily driver

tranny fluid is tranny fluid... alot of gurus will tell you that GH fluid is better. bs.. it all works the same. if you have easy access to the GH fluid, then just get that, but if it's more of a hassle for you than any tranny fluid will be fine. much the same with coolant as well.

I was told it wasn't a good idea to use synthetic oil in your transmission. Some other people said that it didn't matter. I didn't take a chance and went with Honda MTF. It's just about the same price as the other stuff, plus you know that you won't have any problems with it.

I've used GH and GM / Penzoil synchromesh. Both worked exactly the same. I'm going to stick with the penzoil just so I don't have to make a trip to the dealer.

did u see any performance loss with the synchromesh...my friend sean did a dyno run with synchromesh and lost 6 wheel hp cuz it was so thick

No, this is the standard synchromesh, not the Friction Modified that is only sold through the dealers:

It's virtually identical to the GH MTF. Unless you're having a synchro problem, you shouldn't be running the FM.
