I looked up spark knock. Everywhere I looked it said it was another word for detonation. And usually happens under acceleration.

I have the same issue too, but it only happens when I turn the car off.

if your problem is detonation or spark knock, it can normally be solved by using a Higher octane gas.

Is it more a engine niose or just a noise coming from somewhere on the car? could it be just the exhaust maybe rattling and barely hitting something? Just trying to think of everything it could be ???

What the hell... if this is happening after you turn the car off, its probably the exhaust and/or the heat sheilds cooling off. Thats all.

werd.. metals expand and contract as they change temperature. the cat will click or tick when its heats and cools most noticably.
