I plan to do an engine swap on my 91 h/b civic, but I don't know which engine to
choose..

Also, what kind of tools (if necessary) do I need to use?

 

B16 if you're on a budget, B18C if you wanna make more power.

For tools you'll need a bunch...a 100 pc tool kit, extensions, big *** hammer, 32mm socket (for wheel nut), breaker bar, and an engine hoist. Or bring a few friends and install the engine from the bottom by laying the motor on it's side and sliding it under the engine bay

Ultimately, it's going to come down to your budget. How much are you willing/planning to spend?

 

I know I'm going to spend lots of money..Probably about $5,000 or more....

Try searching for swap, swap guide, b16a parts list, etc. Search both recent and archived content. It should have everything you need. Oh yeah and buy a factory service manual aka helms manual.
