Default Engine thoughts

Hey everyone,

I have a stock 91 civic hatch, and I want to do an engine swap for this summer. I only want to spend like 3000 for the engine and install. I am not sure weather to go with a B16 V-Tech or go with B18 non-vtech. At this point I just dont know...help me out

OK, first of all, Honda never made anything called V-Tech or vtech. It's VTEC, and there's a great article about what it means in the FAQ, I suggest you read it.

You need to do some research and figure out what motor works for YOU, not just what anybody on some website can tell you. You need to ask yourself what your goals for the car are , then make the decision. You can do either swap with $3K.

Go visit the FAQ and get to reading, you'll find more info than you could ever need.

I think there gay? anyway bolth engines have alot of potential, I would go
with the ls swap it has more torque and you can add vtec later. My friend had
a b16a in his 91 dx and I had a b18a in a 91 si and I would pull him off the
start then we would stay even on the top end. So good luck

Whatever one is trying to say is it is your car your project so get the motor that fits you. Personally for me a drag motor would be terrible I am into closed circuit road racing and rebuilding a motor after every lap doesn't sound fun. Research what is best for you and what you want to do.
