i recently spun a bearing snd had to pull my motor, during the process i noticed a wire coming directly out of the block on the driver side. i forget where it went to but my altenater belt rubbed it almost in half was wondering if anyoner could tell me what it was?

 

Out of you block towards the timing belt?? Possibly right out of the timing belt cover?

 

if it is a 96 and up car it is probably the CKF sensor.

 

what is a ckf sensor? i dont have a clue my dad said it could have something to do with oil pressure?

 

CKF sensor is crankshaft fluctuation sensor.

I'm 99.9% sure, someone correct me though if it's not.

Can you get a pic of said wire?

that sounds important, is that expensive? it is coming right out of my timing belt cover.

 

Probably the crank angle sensor. If this is an ODB1 car, no need to worry about it.

 

its a 98 so its obd2, do i have to worry?
