what's the best cam for my D15B sohc vtec?
I bought the D15B sohc vtec, and I was wondering what is the best cam kit for it? And any ideas on what to do besides i/h/e? I want to stay n/a though? Like what's the best underdrive pulley, cam gears stuff like that. Thanks
I'm not trying to be a jerk, but don't bother trying to squeeze power out of that motor by adding boltons. In the end, I think you'll be disappointed in the $$$/fun ratio.
How about a homemade turbo kit? that's your best bet with that lump 'o **** motor.
just calling it how I see it...

Okay but, I don't want to go with any type of FI right now unless I can find a supercharger which is highly unlikely. I autoX my car and use it one track events, turboes create to much heat on a 100 degree day and you pushing your car hard as hell for like 6-8 hours a day. That causes too much headache for me.
Some people have cam envy - I only need 1.
The Zex 53900 is a pretty poplular option, here's some dynos with varying parts applied to give you an idea of output on a Z6 (D15B should be similar, although stretched toward the higher rpm range):

Look down to Dyno's and D series camshaft comparison.
Moose from http://www.sohchonda.com is the author of those if you want to ask him any questions....
As far a cam gears go AEM, Golden Eagle, and DC sports all make good cam gears for the D series engine.
I think you're on the right path for your goals - a fun to drive, cheap, responsive car.
