Default What's the difference between these BLOCKS?

I have a D16Y8 block and a D16A8 block. What's the differnce between them?

D16Y8= Has Vtec, From 97 Civic EX

D16A8= Non Vtec, From 91 CRX Si

Besides those two...could I use the D16A8 BLOCK with a EX Vtec Head and EX tranny? Please help!

Yes, you could. But why wouldn't you use the Y8 block, since that is most likely what head you'll want to use?

Oh sorry, I forgot to say that the Y8 block is messed up. Broke 2 rod bearings and it scored the crank. That's why I wanted to know if I could just use the A8 block instead.
