whats the widest tyre that will fit a 7.5 inch wide wheel?!?

Default whats the widest tyre that will fit a 7.5 inch wide wheel?!?

At the moment im running 205/40/R17's, im wondering if I can stretch a 215 or 225 on there?

Your help is most appreciated

it'll fit on the wheel, yes, but you're getting it a pretty large diameter wheel/tire combo. it may rub.

It can vary from one make/model tire to another. Look up the specs for the tire you're considering. You can find them on the Tire Rack website or the tire manufacturer's website. The specs show the range of approved rim widths for each size of that particular tire. That will answer your question.

He never stated what kind of car it was going on. In case you didn't read the TITLE of the thread, he asked specifically what the widest tire he could put on the rim, NOT THE CAR.

As stated above, the question is pertaining to the widest tire usuable on that wheel NOT THE CAR!!!! I guess some people want to be right so bad....

it doesn't hurt to cover all your bases though, so it should be noted that a 245 will not fit under his crx.
