info on converting jdm OBDII engine to OBDI
alright guys...i need help quick.
what all needs changed to hook up a jdm OBDII motor? the distributor, injectors, ecu and what else?
also...do any of you have info on the new H23A VTEC motor from the new accord type-r's? how are they getting 2.3L out of it? its pretty much a h22 but somehow theyre getting 2.3L out of it. im guessing just a diff crank. should the head accept the same parts as a h22? i mean would i be able to buy H22 valvetrain parts like cams etc and it would fit?
thanks a lot for any info you have!

Assuming it is to go into an OBD1 Prelude...
You need some of the parts you mentioned - the 97+ injectors and ECU. Plus, you need a secondary O2 sensor (or some way to trick the ECU into seeing one) and O2 sensor bung behind the cat to plug it into.
As far as the distributor goes, you can use the 92-96 Prelude distributor from an H23 or an H22a. This will save you the hassle of rewiring the distributor harness. If you need to use an 97+ Prelude distributor, you will also need to rewire the OBD1 distributor harness because at least one sensor that was in the distributor on 92-96 Preludes are now on the crank on the 97+ motors...

an OBD1 ECU and a OBD1-OBD2 Wiring harness
The subject of an OBD2->OBD1 swap has been covered at length recently. Try a search.

All you need is the OBD II -> OBD I adapter harness. If the OBD II engine you are getting has high resistance injectors already, then you will need to wire around the resistor box that you should already have. If the engine you are getting has low resistance injectors than nothing else is needed.
