Default Clutch problem...? Need some help.

Me and a friend were driving through downtown Albuquerque today and my car (91' CRX Si) started f'ing up on me. I came to a stop and when I pressed the clutch in it had very little 'resistance' to it. The light turned green so I tried to put it in 1st and it wouldn't go. People started honking at me so I told my friend to hop out and push it...after about 20 ft. I jumped out to help push and then jumped back in to see if I could get it into gear. I got it into 1st, but not very easily.

I figured I would try to make it home and avoid lights and traffic. I made it home and it didn't happen quite that bad on the trip there. I won't have time to look at it until tomorrow, but was wondering what it could be. I can do 'basic' maintenance to my cars, but am clueless when it comes to stuff like this. Where should I start?

Cliff notes: Driving around today, I think my clutch went out on me (not sure), I need some suggestions on what it could be.

does the clutch disenguages and enguages fine when your shifting gears? it might just be a matter of tightening your adjustment star or it could be something wrong with your release fork/release berring

First of all, thanks for all of the replies so far I just got back from shooting pool and having a couple of Bodingtons

The symptoms are as follows:

-no/very little pressure when pushing the clutch in

-very difficult to put into any gear

-slight shudder when starting out in 1st gear

*maybe related-the previous owner put a new clutch in and maybe it needs some adjustment, I dunno.

Luckily I still have my 00' EX Coupe as a back-up still. I may just keep it until I get a little more work done to the rex. I don't have the money right now to buy a Helms for the CRX right now...do Chilton or Haynes manuals provide good instruction on how to do repairs?
