Any Idea???
I recently found out that my CRX is leaking antifreeze. When I purchase the car, there wasn’t any problem until I bleed it out then refilled it with a fresh one. It’s mainly leaking from under where the time belt is but I don’t know how to take off the cap (that covers the timing belt). I searched and found out some information that it was the water pump but do I have to take off the engine mount to take off the cap??? I want some advice before doing something stupid, so some clues will be helpful.
Well to change the water pump its basically the same procedure as changing timing blet
You need to remove the crank pulley then you can unbolt the timing belt cover

Is that the thing that holds the engine? Won’t the engine fall if I unbolt crank pulley?

No the engine wont fall if you remove your crank pulley. If you dont have one pick up a manual, while it will be time consuming the first time changing the water pump isnt that difficult and while your at it you might as well change the timing belt as well.

If its coming from the timing belt cover thats what it would be there isnt anything else that could be causing the leak in there. Its probably coming out of the "Weap" hole which happens when they start going bad.
Coolant/Antifreeze same difference

It may slow it down for a bit but it wont fix it, a bad water pump is a bad water pump plus if you try to mask it you risk the water pump seizing and then you could overheat since the water pump wont be working.

its a 2 hour job replace it it cost me 40 bucks for the pump and 45 for the belt.....i did mine yesterday.......drain coolant from radiator
jack the car up take front driver wheel off, loosen alternator belt and a/c belt if u have a/c, find a block that will fit snugly under oil pan, take your motor mount out,
remove bottom drive pulley, remove timing covers. take you pulley bolt screw into crank then turn motor to TDC then remove timing belt and water pump then reverse to put back together
change the timing belt while you have it apart
