who has measured their h-series deck hight?
NOT your friend, NOT your brother, first hand only.
common posting is 8.655...well i was talking to someone and they said it was 8.643...me wanting to get the specs of my new build exact, i had mine measured. h23a1 block benson sleeves 8.638! im guessing its been decked once...
we need a lot of people to go and measure stock ones, sleeved ones just for comparasion.
what gets me, is a lot of piston companies base it on 8.655, im surprised this hasn't come up as people have been doing clearence measurments and such.

come on guys, 3 pages about a cup holder and nothing on something like this...what is this world coming to
Well I am breaking your rule since I have never actually measured it but in my helm's manual it says 8.643" for the deck height and my calculations have resulted in similar measurements (Deck Height = [stroke/2] + rod + piston + PtoD clearance)
This site's use of the word "Tech" is a bit of a misnomer in this forum despite some people's efforts to the contrary. This forum has a lot of fluff, you might get better results in the All Motor forum but then again because you are talking about H-series you might get ignored. You could also PM some of the more knowledgeable people on this board and see if they can help you. Oaksracing is building a new motor so he might have the tools to get measurements you seek.

then why does the faq say 8.655?
also i guess if you have done reverse engineering that's ok also...ie measured how far out/in the hole a KNOWN piston crank and rod size combo...preferably a new rod that hasn't stretched yet

I can check my 95 helms too, 8.643" sounds familiar..
What, Rick Solis hasn't 3D mapped the entire H22 engine and figured this stuff out down to the micrometre yet? Sheesh what is the world coming to?!

even funnier is that back in the day when i started this build, rick was the one who told me this 8.643, i was just tring to keep his name out of here so it wouldnt start another war in my theard.
But cp told me 8.655, and those are the pistons i have. JE, Wiseco, and many others also base it on this #. then i checked our faq and it said 8.655. so now that the 8.643 is proved, i wanted to compare others blocks.
BTW-WHY was rick banned?

haha blow me..you should get your facts straight
a. I never banned him, I never had ban rights
b. He's still on this board
c. how am I talking ****? He never made the thread he said he was going to
d. I hardly care as much as you seem to, maybe that's why I'm not here so much anymore...
