Accurate measurement on Piston pin-to-Bushing clearnce on a Eagle rod...
is 0.0004 to 0.0006th of an inch. Which means, to get an accurate measurement, you'll need an instrument that can read 0.00001th of an inch.
I was reading http://www.overboost.com/story.asp?id=1034 and also in the Helms manual, which says to use a micrometer and a bore gage.
This method will not be accurate, cause the best of the bore gage only gos to .0001th of an inch, as well as micrometers(non-digital).
So, only way to get an accurate measurement for the piston pin-to-bushing clearance is mesuring by Go-No go gage, or take it to NASA, cause this is space shuttle tolerances here.
So, how accurate do you guys measure your clearance?

do you realize how small .0004-.0006" is? This very very very small inconsistancy would not matter in your application. you are not talking about thousanths but ten-thousants. you could probably never find a accurate tool to measure to .0001" unless you use a $10,000 cmm machine.

the human hair is 6 thousandths or .006 thick. you are talking about a thousandth of that, .0001". If it fits without ANY lateral wiggle, then you are good to go....

Yes, this is exactly what I'm talking about. If I even breath, when I'm measuring, I'll be way off! Nevertheless, that's the tolerance indicated by Eagle rods.
