lol not the EGR valve itself. i'm not going to run an EGR valve so don't i need something done to the ecu so i don't get a check engine light?

 

You mean a EGR lift code from having it unplugged, or a flow error from having it disconnected?

You have a 5th Gen? Then nobody can. You would need to move to a different ECU.

 

damn i dunno. it's a 95 H22A. the motor or ecu isn't in the car yet. i just heard that you get a code if you don't have your EGR hooked up and you can get it reprogrammed out of the ecu so you don't get a light.

 

In my case I made an aluminum gasket without the holes in it between the EGR valve and the manifold. NO dealing with the emmissions people that way.

 

the only way to take out egr is to change your ecu to si ecu or gsr thats what i did on mine. i used a topfuel intake manifold direct from japan and its running fine on my car

 

i'm using the Hondata gasket kit so there's no hole in mine for EGR either. So will I have a CE light when i start it up?

 

just a suggestion, you might try sending your computer to Jet performance and tell them to upgrade it and to see if they can take out the egr code. tell them its for a race only car if they ask.
