Default VTEC/IAB LED's... the IAB LED is always ON... why is that?

I'm putting some LED's on the VTEC and IAB... i followed this pic:

Pins 8 and 26...

I turn the car to the "on" position and the IAB LED turns on, and stays on... i then Start the car... and IAB LED is Still on... i havent warmed up the car or tested the VTEC LED yet because i dont know if something is wrong with the IAB...

what could be the problem... or is this normal or what?

Thanks all!

That I posted on Team-integra... lol...Yes follow that pic...just look at your ecu and count the pins. Remember on OBDIIa the pins are counted from left to right..

yep.. thats the one..

but i did follow the pins and they are in the correct location... but the IAB is ALWAYS "on".

Is there a reason for this?

Is it just me but i think i might be right, When the key is on, the IAB solenoid is actuated which holds vacuum so when you start the car, the IAB solenoid holds vacuum, in turn holds the butterfly valves shut. And when you hit 5700 the vacuum is released which causes the dashpot to open the butterfly valves...

Or is it the completely opposite and vacuum open the iab's not holds them closed until vacuum is released, That would cause the light to do what it is doing if am correct?

Try to start your car and see if the iab light stays on, if it does, take it for a drive, and hit iab's x-over and see if the light goes off...

These fowlling daignotic troubleshooting diagrams support my theory..

This one states that the IAB Valve is "on" until after 5750, that would mean that your led light would stay on until the above determined rpm..

Troubleshooting the IAB System.. Again states that your led would light up until or after 5700 rpms when the voltage is released, which in turn opens the valve and releases the vacuum which lets the butterfly valves let out their glory...

another one just for reference..

so... is that saying that when the IAB opens up past 5800rpms... the ECU wire goes to GROUND?

And if so, in order to change the LED to turn ON when the RPM's go past 5800, all i need to do is set the + to 12V and the - of the LED to the ECU IAB wire... Right?

which yea ECU and motor are you running?? obd1 and obd1 IABs use different polarity. one uses positive and one uses negative to switch..

so if your LED stays on when the car runs and then goes out when you hit 5700 rpms then its working.. its just the polarity is reversed...

it's a '97 GSR

So after 5800, it's not FLOATING? it's actually Grounded?

I've got both IAB and VTEC LED's working on my 97 Teg. For IAB, Just run the LED Positive lead to Ignition power, then the LED Negative lead to the IAB pin of the ECU.

And one more thing, when you switch the car to ignition, the LED will turn on, but as soon as you start the car, it will shut right off.
