Tie Rod Removal
I have my car jacked up and where the tie rod is at, the balljoint screw are stripped. So the bolt doesn't even wanna go in. I'm sure i need a replacement. Is there a step on how to take out a tie rod? Here's how the tie rod looks like. It's on a 90 crx hf.
this should help.....i went through the same thing a while ago

go to your local Pep Boys or Kragen's Auto Parts and put the $20 down and rent a pickle fork. Then, on the tie rod you will see a rubber "boot" pull it down (try not to damage this if you can) slide the pickle fork on it, grab a hammer and swing away until it pops off. Youre done. Trust me, its a bitch and a half but this should do it.
it's my balljoint that was stripped, Not the whole tie rod. But seeing it's a *** to take out the balljoint itself, i was gonna take out the whole tie rod and have it replace. thanks for the advice.
you know...once the nut is gone off the tie rod end, just wack the **** out of the knuckle, right on the side of the tie rod (but dont hit the tie rod)... the tie rod will pop right out of the socket. works everytime

just cut the nut off with a grinder. there is a nut cracking tool that is able to break the nut i've never tryed it though. but just cut it off and replace the whole thing. when ever you take a nut off a ball joint put a small peice of rubbere hose over it to protect the threads because fucked up ball joints are nothing buy trouble. goos luck.
if you dont have a grinder u can try to wedge a pickle fork in there to put some pressure on the nut and try to back it out.
