Default My motor feels sluggish lately..

Hey fellas.. My motor feels like it lost some power lately over 7krpm, I did a compression test and it came out #1 234 #2 233 #3 232 #4 231psi, I recently cut my AEM cold air and made it a short ram (maybe thats it?) maybe I need a valve ajustment? or more fuel? here are my mods

98US ITR Engine/Tranny 80k Miles
96 Spec JDM ITR ECU
Ported JDM ITR 4-1 Header, T1R Test Pipe, Kteller 2.5" Exhaust
AEM SRI, Hondata Gasket, Denso's, 8.5mm wires & TB Coolant bypass
timing set at 18 degrees

the guy I got the motor from said it had never been touched.. so maybe in 80k miles the valves have never been ajusted?

VTEC hits hard then after 7k it gets a tad quieter and doesnt feel like it is pulling like it was... maybe its leaning out a tad up top?
Any help would be great
Thanks

Compression numbers look good.

However your problem is going to be incredibly difficult to troubleshoot over the net but maybe someone who had the same problem can reply with some info.

try a tuneup. Plugs, cap and rotor, fuel filter, valve adjustment...

If that doesn't help, than you've got bigger issues.

The plugs and wires have about 2k on them, when i pulled them out to check the compression they looked fine, Fuel Filter is a AEM Unit and has about 2k on it also, I know the cap & rotor hasnt been touched for awhile so that could be it.

Yes sir, I switched to a short ram when its getting hot now... but some days its sunny with a very cold breeze.... would you think a CAI Intake is better for summer?.... it does feel sort of like a hesitation

cai intake is best for year round imo...expect for rainy days

****, I was about to post that you might have a clogged cat... then I read that you don't have a cat. I suck recently.

Try doing a hard run (WOT for a little bit) then pull your plugs... see if any of them are unusual, or all black. Did they all look the same when you checked compression?

If you haven't had a valve adjustment in 80K miles, you're more than due, I think the owners manual is 30K (that's how long I go, others do it really frequently).

Last resort, you could get it on a dyno to see if your butt is lying to you.

Just put my CAI extension back on (my custom 2 piece AEM =D... ) I forgot to reset the ECU but I did a few pulls and It was wantin to break traction in 1st.. I think my engine just likes CAI better? It seems to run smoother with Cold air also.... I'm gonna go reset the ECU

could be a bad tank of gas

check your timing too

could be a combination of bad gas and timing that doesn't go with the bad gas

Check your plugs, cap, rotor and wires. If all else fails add a super concentrated fuel additive.
