car won't start sometimes (not turning over) yet drove it home. searched
i have a 91 rex with a b16a. i drove to school today (30 min), came out of school about an hour later, started up. drove to work (10 min away), worked for about hour and half (took off early to study for finals). when i came out my car would not start, it wouldn't turn over, crank or anything. i could hear the fuel pump prime, the chech engine light would come on for 2 seconds and the go off with the normal click. when i turned the key the only thing i could hear was a click that sounds like the one you hear when that initial cel goes off. i was pissed, walked to advance auto, screwed around and about another hour and a half i was back at my car. i turned the key for the hell of it and it fired right up, like a new car. last week i stopped at my girlfriend's house for about an hour and when i came out i did the same thing waited a few minutes and it started up, i thought it was the starter so i replaced it. also today i had the battery (and alt) tested and it was 14.3.
any grounds in particular???
how can it be a fuse? if a fuse was blown that would keep it from starting then how would it start.

this sounds similar to the problem the guy I bought my car from had.
Cylinder #3 wasn't getting any fire. One of the injectors was bad and flooding out. I would check to see if you are firing on ALL cylinders

but im not even turning over, a bad injector wouldn't cause the starter not to turn would it?

my 93 integra did the same thing till it just wouldn't start all the time. i replaced the ignition control modual, distributor subessembly, still didn't help. so i took it to the dealership and it ended up being the fuel injection relay, like a $30 part. worked like charm since

no i haven't but i thought that a main relay either worked or didn't.

Sometimes the Main Relay can be finicky. Ive heard of people just hitting theirs with a screwdriver to get it to kick on. So, it could very well be your main relay. Easy part to change. Id say check it. Usually when a main relay goes bad though your car will just crank and not start. Just crank forever. So it doesnt sound like the main relay. Id say start in the distributor and ignition. Thats just my guess though. Could have a loose ground somewhere too.

could it just be a bad starter?

is a fuel injection relay a fancy name for a main relay?

mmmmmain relay. does it not start when it's warmer? you can either get a new one fron honda or some people have opened them up and resoldered the connections. it's located behind the coin tray against the wall. little black box.
well today when it didn't want to start it was in the mid 40s but then tyou have the whole green house effect. it was warm enough on the inside that i roled down my window.
from what i understand it has to be one of the following since that car doesn't even crank
1. bad starter
2. bad ground
3. main relay
does this sound right? anything else?
