Default Inverted backwards readout from TPS sensor volt reading

I know this is my second thread on the same topic but I people werent responding to my old thread title. Anyway after much procrastinating I went out and bought a multimeter to test my TPS after everyone told me that was most likely the problem since I've replaced just about everything else that has to do with high throttle bogging and funny idle. So I learned how to use it and hooked it up the red wire and got a reading of 4.5V at idle and .5V at WOT, which is exactly the opposite of what it should have been! I didnt adjust it at all because I was kind of baffled with the results I got. Does anyone have any clue what the issue could be, or if I should unscrew it and start trying to adjust the TPS to .5V at idle and 4.5 at WOT?

My problem is that my car will bog as if its not getting any gas if I use more than 75% throttle or so.. replaced soo much stuff, i'm tearing my hair out on this one. Also my idle is out of control on the first start up of the day, sometimes going higher than 3000 if its cold out. And my tranny hates going into first at 3k Idle will decrease to sub-1k after its fully warmed up.

TIA

If you took the reading from middle wire (Red/blk, or at the ECU, D11)?

If so, switch the two outer wires (grn/wht, yel/wht).

I just tested all the wires, they're all on except for the red one which has voltages reversed.. help!

How would I switch those two wires? Also, since I exposed and probed my TPS wiring this morning, my VTEC has completly stopped engaging. WTF did I do?

Either:

Cut both of them and switch them

OR

Repin it

So its not going to mess up any voltages or anything if I simply cut them and retie them with e-tape?

As opposed to your "normal" voltages you have now? No.

If you can, pull the pins out and swap them, then you dont have to screw with cutting wires on your harness. But if thats a no-go, then yes, just cut them off (obviously with enough length to work with) and tape/solder/crimp them back together.

it's better repin then cut the plug.

I know this thread is over 15 years old, but I wanted to share some info I just discovered. I had an obd0 pr3 ecu that required me to cross the tps wires to get the right reading (was backwards). Then I got another obd0 pr3 ecu put in and I had to cross them back where it was before. Both are unchipped pr3-003 but have opposite polarities for the tps. I have no idea why. So my advice would be to check tps voltage if you change your ecu ,at least with obd0
