Default Car bogging problems

Hey guys I just needed your guys input. I've been working on my gf's 94 integra gsr. The car has some massive bogging when accelerating. I just got done replacing the spark plugs with some ngk's, ngk spark plug wires, and a new oem cap and rotor. I'm still getting the same bogging. I checked the spark plugs and i noticed they were ashey white on the tip and also theres oil on the spark plugs. Any input guys? i'm not no pro mechanic or anything. I'm just guessing theres a leak in the valve cover gasket (the rubber ring gasket) and the cars running lean since the spark plug tips are white. Any inputs will help me thanks.

I was thinking the injectors are dirty too. The plugs are gapped to stock specs on a bkr7e-11 ngk plugs.

try using a warmer plug..... your shouldn't need bkr7e-11 unless your at >12:1 compression... use bkr6e-11 and check your timing...

He was probably talking about your throttle position sensor (TPS). if you prob the signal wire coming from the TPS it should be .5V at idle 10% and 4.5V at WOT close to 100%. From there check injector duty cycles and pulse widths with a noid light. If the info coming from the ECU is good the pulses should be within spec (sorry I dont know the spec for your teg). If you dont see something off here, and you have DTCs stored then your injectors are probably Dirt McGurt.

The heat rating on plugs is the rate at which the plug can dissapate heat. So long as you arent under the rating you are all set.

And also as stated above Check your o2 for switching..high and low.

u took off the distributor to switch the cap and rotor...did u mark the distributor to make sure u put it back in the right spot? try to retard the timing all the way and see how that goes...

right but is the distributor back on the same spot it was before? did u mark it? if not u probably just put it on and threw the timing off..loosen the bolts and retard the timing...

im sorry but I dont know what "retard" the timing is. When I tried to replace the rotor, I had to spin the rotor untill the bolt holding the rotor lined up so I can unbolt it. So when I replaced the rotor it should of been the same as before?

but then again, the car bogging was still there before. I should research more about the timing. People are telling me to retard or advance the timing but I have no clue wth that is. haha

An easy way to test your injectors is, take a long screwdrive, touch the metal end down to one injector, then put your ear directly on to the handle of the screwdrive. If it's not making a clicking noise, your injector is bad, do this with all four of them.

But, this will only tell you if there bad, not dirty unfortunetly.

Good luck

Hey bro.. I ran to the same problem with my GSR and I found that when you take out the spark plugs, use something clean and go inside where the spark plugs are and clean the inside. It's the oil that is leaking into where the spark plugs are. It's bogging because the sparks ain't coming good. Try it ...I guarantee it'll work.

when I try to accelerate with very light throttle the car doesnt bog. But when I try to use a lil more throttle the car just bogs like a ******. I'm going to try to clean out the oil and replace my valve cover gaskets to hopefully stop the oil leaks, then replace the fuel filter.
