Default Car randomly dies while driving !?!?!!?!

My car was driving fine all yesterday i come home do some stuff for like 3 hours after school go get in my car starts fine i leave about 2 minutes later my car just dies as i am entering the freeway it was like someone just turned the key off. the guages all just went back down to zero and there was no bogging or anything. i turn it off pull over and wait a minute try to start it again and it doesnt start. i turn the key once to listen for the fuel pump and main relay i can hear the main relay but the fuel pump barely makes a sound. i unplugged my main relay plugged it back in just to make sure that wasnt it tried to start it again and it doesnt start. it seems like it has something to do with the fuel because it wants to turn over and shows no other sings of a problam it does everything it normaly does when it starts it just doesnt start. any guesses as to what could have happened i am all ears for thanks!

it would help to know what year and mileage.

test fuel pressure on prime, then test for spark. suddenly die like that... to me it indicated distributor fault. fuel problems, at least it would buck and sputter then die. my Samurai died like that one day, it was the distributor.

all your indicator lights went off on the gauge cluster? do they turn on when you put in the key now? if not on, your ignition switch may be at fault...or bad wiring from an alarm? check it out...

i had the same problem... motor would just cut out whlie driving.
i thought iwas my coil but turned out it was the ignitor.
Use a volt meter to test the coil. If your get something it'll be yuor ignitor thats faulty

Bro that **** JUST happend to my girl's Altima. Def get a new distibutor cap/rotor new plug wires, just needs a simple tune-up. If that DOESN'T help then think about fuel

Altima had 111,xxx miles on it factory distributor, changed runs like new, no more sputtering when ya let off the throttle, no more "on-ramp stalls" lol, that's some scary **** when you got traffic RIGHT behind you and your wip stalls

turns out some how a bolt broke and a piece of it flew into the timing belt and shreded it lol... well im in the process of takin the head off to check the valves and **** and put on my new head so im not to disapointed. the only thing i am mad about is the fact that when i walked back to my car to get it towed and somone stole my cd player and fucked up all the wires that go to the aircontrol **** but its all fixable.
