Default ? about (b) transmissions, axles, and the "c" clip........

This is "cjsls.com" posting on my friends computer.....

I'll try and word this the best i can:
Okay on the passenger side axle(specifically the 90-93 cable Integra) there is a "c" clip(i guess for a lack of a better word) at the end of the splines...if im not mistaken its used to keep the axle from slipping out of the transmission. My question concerns the hole where it slips into.......just before the splines IS there supposed to be another "c" clip???? Im not talking about the one on the actual axle because i know there is supposed to be one there.....talking about in the hole on the transmission where it supposed to set in.

Reason i ask is because earlier today the passenger side axle popped out of the transmission.....after work i was able to work on it and out of sheer curiousity i looked inside that hole just to inspect it. Thats when i noticed it. Its possible that IF its not supposed to be there maybe i overlooked it on a previous axle swap. I don't know.

Someone help please.....that $70 tow this morning to go 3 miles did not make me happy.....

just looked in mine and i see a ring in the tranny just before the splines.....so i would guess its supposed to be there. i thought the only way an axle can fall out of a tranny is if its too short.....oh well good luck
