Engine Mount bracket broken...How important is it? Should replace?
I have a Civic Ex 1996 manual transmission. Just noticed the egine mount on the drive side front is broken. I appears the rubber is dried out and is broken along one of the joints. In the http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com, it is called a Rubber L. FR which cost $30.84 with a part number 23192. It can be found in the MT Engine Mount section.
Question, should I spend the money to replace this part? How important is it and can I get along with it broken?
Thanks for you time. Below is the link to the part

Yes, I agree, however, the current mount doesn't appear to be holding up the engine either. In fact, if I take out the engine mount, the stud it is holding doesn't move. Either way, I guess for $30, I will plan to purchase the part today.
thank you.
thank you.
my buddies is broken and his engine just slops around on hard shifts... I dun imagine it's good for the axles or the rest of the mounts either
def replace it!!!
any comments on ES mount inserts?? you guys like them?

Every motor mount is important. When one goes it causes the motor to move around which will eventually crack all the other mounts... And then your car feels like **** going around turns, hard shifting, or going over bumps.

REPLACE IT ASAP.... and make sure all your mounts are good and all the bolts if not this could happen... the ek mount is crap. i replaced mine twice and the second time with a Place Racing Polyurethane filled (instead of oil like your stock mount) and the damn thing still broke and took a piece of the body with it... so make sure all your mounts have all bolts and are bolted down properly
