Need Help: b20 has bad compression what could the problem be??

Default Need Help: b20 has bad compression what could the problem be??

its a b20z .. compression test came out to 190-170-90-70 .. the head was taken out before .. could it be the surface of the head going bad nearer to the 3rd and 4th cyl.?? .. any advice will help .. thanks

check the head gasket. even if you are not blowing smoke it could be blown between #3 and 4. When the head is removed usually it's a good idea to have a machine shop clean it up that way you don't run into problems with the headgasket.
