ringing.....bad water pump?

Default ringing.....bad water pump?

the last few weeks ive been hearing a ringing sound when i go past 2500rpms, to goes with the engine sound so its internal, but it is also leaking coolent randomly, sometimes it will, sometimes nothing, sometimes alot, im pretty sure its the water pump but im not 100%, 91 accord LX coupe, Auto

yeah its the water pump i put one on a 93 honda last week and it was doing the exact same thing, and also if, u have never had a timing belt put on now is the time to do it.

its a real pain in the *** and it costs a **** load to have someone else do it. i have an auto with AC so theres the AC assembly and a nice big engine mount right in the way. how so i get clearence?

its realy easy u just have to take the mount off and ur timing belt covers break the tension nut the one thats sticking out of the cover, before u do that u might want to set the #1 piston at top dead center and mark everything so that way u wont have anything out of time, but when u get ready to install the water pump ur gona need an extra jack so that u will be able to lift the motor up and down to get to some tight spots u dont have to take ur ac pump off just all of ur belts.

Could you describe the "ringing" sound? I hvae sort of a high piched whine, but I wouldny describe it as a ringing. it hits at about the same rpm.

ok so i know this is going to sund stupid but whats the best wat to set no. 1 on TDC? ive heard a few methods and when iw as taking classes my teacher had a whistle on a plastic tube and when it sounded the loudest it was on the compression stroke and then he would look down the spark plug hole to see where the piston was. this seemed to work quite well....although he made the little whistle thing and i cant find the stuff he used to make his....his fit pefectly in the spark plug hole. any other efficent way of doing this? thanks for the help by the way.
