Default opinions... gsr rebuild... what would you do?

i'm getting a cheap gsr swap that needs a rebuild... was wondering if i should get a b16 head or stick with the gsr head? i've heard good things about the b16 head... just wondering if it's worth the trouble...
planning on putting spoon rods w/ spoon pistons...itr valvetrain... which head would be better with this kind of setup... i was also thinking or getting some cams like maybe buddy clubs 3... any input would be useful thank you....

oh yea after the rebuild i woul dhave to break in the motor... should i do that with stock cams? or just leave the aftermarkets in there?

thanks

Keep your OEM rotating assembly, blueprint & balance it. Might want to pick up some CTR pistons, port the B16 head, use Crower or Ferrea valvetrain, get some wild cams, an ITR IM & Header.... ****, theres a lot you can do. Search for "Poor mans type R" and you'll find some useful information.

You can break in a motor with new cams.

does spoon even make rods?

anywho, keep your stok rods like these guys said, and if you want to upgrade on pistons go with a pr3, p30, or pct

oh yea, and this is a good site www.allmotor-question.com

dude... i don't know... i have the spoon rods (got them for like 260)... i'm new at this b series stuff...

i heard that CTR pistons would yield too much compression (thats what i heard)...

my main question is... b16 head or stick with the gsr... i also heard that the b16 heads are of the same castings of a type r head... is the stuff i read true? thanks?!

a Type R head is the same as a B16 head, except for the following things. Type R heads are hand ported, and come with the uber l33t Type R valvetrain and LMAs. Do a search, this stuff has been discussed many times.

You can make a lot of power with a "Poor man's type R" if done correctly.

Search.

spoon rods are just stock honda rods rewrap by spoon, but ill go with a stock bottom end apr rod and head bolts, ctr pistons, gs-r head, ctr cams and springs.and skunk2 manifold.
