Default closed or open deck block?

I am planning on either putting an h22 in my accord then when i have more money getting it built and putting on a turbo kit.OR-building up the f23 to handle some boost(up to 15psi)and then putting on a turbo kit. My question is about closed deck blocks-what exactly does this mean? I am guessing that "closed deck" is referring to the coolant passages around the cylinders on some honda blocks. I heard the h22 is more prone to problems if the boost is turned up high. Is the h22 closed or open deck? Is the f23 closed or open? Which is more prone to failing under high boost pressures? Thanks for the help

The H22A is closed deck, the H22A1 is closed deck, and the H22A4 is open deck. Not sure about the Euro block, but they are less common anyway. If you are getting it sleeved, it doesn't really matter whether the block is open or closed deck.

Closed deck=no coolant passages and Open deck=coolant passages

Supposedly I heard open decks were better for boost due to the fact that there are more coolant passages. Don't know if it holds any validity.

I don't know about that. Most factory turbo engines are closed deck that I can think of.

Ahh a turboedit user. Xenocron is a close friend of mine. Is there any validity to my open deck coolant question?

So are there any more positives/negatives to open/closed decks?

Is the lack of coolant passages a real negative, or is there still sufficient cooling, it just doesnt look so obvious due to the closed deck?
