Check the o-ring gasket on the valve, it's probably messed up when you took it out.

hopefully you reconnected the coolant hoses to the right ports on the iacv, check for vacuum leak around the valve by spraying that carb cleaner while running the engine... if the idle changes then you have a leak. check the seal at the ports between the iacv and intake manifold. also why did you use carb cleaner in the first place? did you have an idle problem already? if so you should try spraying some wd40 in the iacv to loosen up the carbon deposits...

sorry about post title my bad. yes the idle was bad in the first place and i checked the cell and it was a code 14. Was told to clean with carb cleaner. I pretty much didn't even have an idle but the car wouldn't die.

did u bleed the coolant after replacing the valve? air in the cooling system can actually mess up your idle. it causes the iacv to act up. have u tried running your car with the iacv unplugged? if idles steady and low, it's probably a busted iacv

you need a iacv. period. you can sometimes save the iacv by cleaning it. i'd try some wd40 and carb cleaner to loosen the carbon deposits. if that dont work just get another iacv. also when you change the iacv if you lose a lot of coolant bleed the air out of the sys...
