Default Car always pulls slightly to the left..

I don't know if you guys have this problem, but if since I've had my car it has pulled a little to the left. Acura gave it an alignment, and the mechanice took it out and adjusted the steering rack all the way to one side to try and remedy the problem, but that's the best they said they could do. Then yesterday I took it to another dealer and they said it was just 'radial tire pull' .. what a load of crap. Is there anything that can be done to get this thing to go straight?!!

If it's not too bad, then it's normal.

did you make sure the tire pressure was even?
if yes, then lower the tire pressure on the right side a little bit.

I remember when I first got my ITR...I was surprised at how much a difference uneven tire pressure affects they way the car drives.

-Tommy who's ITR is the first sports car he ever owned..unless you count his Escort

if yes, then lower the tire pressure on the right side a little bit.

Radial tire pull might not be BS after all...when i got my steelies from Zyg, they had ContiSportContacts on them...I put the wheels on the car without knowing which side and direction they were used to travelling, as they were unmarked. I noticed the car pulling to the right noticably above 60, so i figured i'd get it aligned...it was spot on. The pressures were all perfect....so on a whim, i decided to swap two of the tires onto the other side, picking the right front and left rear (convoluted logic lead me to believe that for a car pulling to the right would probably be the result of the right front tire rotating against it's "set", how it was broken in). Sure enough, this fixed the problem. Now, all my tires are either going the right way or the wrong way...but whatever the case, the car tracks arrow straight again.

Did they print the specs of your car out? Sometimes even when the car is in spec, it still might pull a little because the toe settings may be off a little in relation to one another. Good alignment shops give you a copy of the before and after to let you see what they've done.

I've got a local shop that does wonderful alignments. Nailed my custom alignments that last 3x. Car tracks perfectly and the specs look great. I had a friend do one once for me for $25 and while it was in spec, the car always had a little pull in it. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

And as everyone else has mentioned. Make sure your tire pressures are correct and even. That can make a dramatic difference on how the car feels.

mine does the same thing, but its because of an accident before i got the car. its going into the shop to get things checked out in Feb. make sure you check your tires(pressure, wear), and the rims(bent?, not balanced?). does the car shake at all? if it does, it could just be the wheels aren balanced correctly which can throw things off. is the steering wheel straight? is your car lowered? if so, did you use coilovers and are they dropped evenly at all 4 corner any pot holes or speed bumps lately? maybe you have something bent in the suspension that is throwing things off. this sort of problem has many different areas that need to be checked so it may take some time(and money) before you figure out the cause and find a resolution. good luck.

Bad tire. I had that same problem. I must have hit a super pot hole and it must have made a deep impression to the tire, which cant be seen with the naked eye. I put the suspect tire in the back and my car was driving straight again. So I wasted money on an alignment. Im thinking maybe the steel in the tires got warped. Put it on the back and see what happens before assuming you need an alignment.

When I have the RE010's on, the car pulls to the right, when I have the Artic Alpine's on, it pulls to the left, regardless of how many times and how many places I bring it to get aligned, or what corners the tires are at. Very bizzare. I'm hoping that when I slap on the Falkens in the spring that things will be dead on. *crosses fingers*

it might just be the tires becuase when i had a slight pull to the left i changed the front left with the front right and now i have a pull to the right. so i think its just the tires

yep, most likely the tires. just bought a 98 R and it pulled to the right. checked tire pressures, had an alignment and still pulled right. swapped fronts and the car pulled left. bought new tires and the car tracks straight as an arrow. the tires that pulled were 010s and looked perfect to the eye with no strange wear patterns. used kumhos to replace them for daily driving. will use the 010s for autocross later in the year.

Well, thanks for all of the input. I've checked the tire pressures about a million times to no avail. Alignment was off when I had the Re010s, but I was hoping it would fix itself with my new Re730s. No dice .. still did the same thing, even after Acura did an alignment. Maybe the rack on the steering is just a little off. It's just so annoying that no one can fix it. I don't really want to lower the right side tire pressures though due to tire wear. Plus, the tires were rotated yesterday and that seemed to make things a little worse. Oh well!
