Default What is an "align hone"?

What is an "align hone". Do I need to do this on my JDM ITR block if I remove the stock girdle and then replace it?

i assume your talking about the main journals.

if so, i believe all you have to do is replace your girdle. no align bore needed

correct. the main journals.

Is an align bore only needed for blocks that add a girdle? Not needed if I am just taking my girdle off and then putting it back on?

i is needed when its needed. haha

it is needed when they are out of align. its possible to put a girdle on and they are still aligned(i believe).

but in your case there is no reason to assume that they have come out of align. .

make sense...

i would still check for clearances. but as for alignment you should be fine.

ask the dealer when you buy the part to be positive. but i just cant imagine replacing a stock part and having it be out of align.
