welding cast iron
I'd have to reccomend that you not do this. Welding cast is unpredictable at best. Therefore, if you do this, I'd hardly call it an UPgrade to make your brake setup less reliable and less safe.
If you have to weld to do a brake upgrade, you're better off to stick with the stock brakes. Maybe you can think of a way to drill and tap to put it on. If you do, make sure to get high grade bolts for it with fine thread.

Adding a bit more..
I'm not trying to say you suck and that you specifically should do this. If you had your car here, I'd refuse to weld that myself. Welding cast is way to unpredictable for me to risk your life and everything I own, should it fail and I get sued by your family.

You gotta heat the cast up first with a torch till the aera you are going to weld is red hot and glowing red.. Then you can weld to it with your bracket.. This is the way you do it to cast.

Keep in mind that heating the metal can make it even more brittle and prone to cracking.
The problem with cast is that everybody says their way works....and there's no way that works EVERY time. As I mentioned, I've been a professional welder for many years and I would not weld this part on my own car. A machined bracked would be much more reliable and safe.
Again, WELDING THIS PART IS A VERY BAD IDEA.
