Newbie Brake Replacement question...
Hi
Do I need to put pad grease on the back of my pads before finishing my brake work? ( I replaced the pads and rotors) I saw in the DIY section the that the poster had done that.
I havent driven my car yet since I screwed up and had to get a new bracket for one side (me=dumb forgetting the old "Righty tighty, lefty loosey" thing... sheesh!!!) One side is done, but with out the pad grease... Is Pad grease any differenft from the grease I put on the bolts to on the bracket?
Please let me know!
Also, my new bracket is from a salvage yard and covered with gunk. If it is made of aluminium it shouldn't be rust, right? can I clean it a bit before I install it?
Thanks!!!!!!!

Re: Newbie Brake Replacement question... (aberle99)
the grease will possibly stop squeeking when applying the brakes. Ive swapped mine without the grease before with no issues or squeeking. and the grease you put on bolts etc would probably be anti-seize which is totally different
edit: USUALLY brake pads come with a little tube.. guess yours didnt?
