Default window motor install?

my passenger window all of a sudden stopped working. there was no whining noise or anything prior to it stopping so i tested the electrical. the motor and switch were getting power so i guess it is the motor. im planning on installing one myself but dont know how hard the job is and wether or not it can be done with basic tools. if anyone knows fill me in.

Yes, it's easy and can be done with simple tools.

Are you sure that the switch on the drivers side that controls both sides is on?

the drivers side window works so i figure its working for the passenger. plus i believe if the passenger is getting power than that means the drivers is working since the power for the passenger comes from the drivers side. (correct me if im wrong)

i read that you have to drill out the old motor from the door and rivet a new one in. im pretty sure i wont have a problem drilling the old one out but im not sure what is needed to rivet a new motor in the door. my choltons manual said to use a ball peen hammer to rivit it in but i have done rivets like that before in metal shop and they didnt hold to well. if yuo know of a better way let me know if not ill just have to get better at rivetting.

the motor should be held on by 10mm bolts, not rivets, what year are you referring to?

i have a 1998 ls. i didnt think the rivet thing made much sense myself but thats what my chiltons manual says.

also let me know if im goin to have to buy new plastic wire holders that connect to the door since i think im just going to have to break them off unless you know a way to pry them off without breaking them.

if your talkin about the clips that hold the panel onto the door, just pry on them gently, it will not break, take time when you take things like this apart, you can break things real easily, just take your time, and make sure you look for all screws and bolts before you start pulling on stuff
