Knock sensor??
you probably aren't wired for a knock sensor in the harness that is inside the car. Even if you have an engine harness with a knock sensor capability you will get the CEL because the signal isn't reaching your ECU. Check a wiring pinout for your ECU and look and see if the pin for the knock sensor has a wire in. If it doesn't then that is the problem.
Also consider that the LS blocks do not have a bung made for a knock sensor. I'm assuming you tapped one of those other places on the block and are just running it like that. After making sure the sensor is properly wired up, make sure the sensor is held down properly. The sensor is supposed to read small vibrations caused by detonation, but if not held down tight enough it may be tripped off by other vibrations. Good luck
