Default spark plug pic, this mean's lean right?

well I comp tested my car for anyone that remembers me and it was 190 accross the board on a cold motor. One thing that was alarming to me though was the color of my spark plugs, I'm under the impression this means lean but why does my wideband say I'm running 11.5-12. when I'm wot yet my plugs say lean ?? Here's some pics

if they were white and looked like powdery then that would be lean. they look barley rich but thats not a bad thing on boost. i'de rather be on the rich side.

you have to be careful reading plugs running any thing but std fuel the additives within the gasonline tend to give it white coating. Its the additives in race gas and other gases that cause the white but it also could be lean. You need to inspect more or less fo signs of detonation

First off you are supposed to do a compression test on a motor thats been fully warmed up, and also those plugs look way to new to really tell anything...Get some miles on them and take some more pics....Obviously you know your a/f looks good, so as long as your timing maps are ok you should be fine,..

Did you pull those plugs after the car idled or did you turn the key off in the middle of a WOT run?

Yep, you have to shut down in the middle of a pull to really read em on an EFI car.

I cannot warm the motor up I blew the crank seal out of it and I wanted to decide weather or not it was worth investing more money into it. "crank seal, bottom end gasket's, manual tensioner swap, timing belt". So compression only gets better as you warm the car up correct? because pistons and rings expand more than the piston wall/sleeve.

The guy who says you need to drive the car around to get a good reading doesn't know what he is talking about. You can do one run on the plugs shut thecar off and I could read them.

From what i can tell about your plugs is you are running fine. The green/white color on the tops of the plug are from the additives in the gas. Not a problem there. The black around the outside of the plugs and deep in the porcelin means you are running rich right at startup and warmup. Other than that plugs look great. No signs of detonation.

If you want to know what your WOT plug looks like, you gotta do a pull and shut down at the top of the run to see if there is any signs of pre ig. or deatonation to get the best idea of whats going on under boost or WOT.

Good Luck, safe boosting

the good way to do a test is take a full blown 1/4 mile pass and shut the car down at the end roll to a stop and check your plugs ,do not give the car gas once you let go of the throtlle that will defeate the whole purpose

those plugs just have some carbon build up it is not a lot but if you would like to clean them get a small parts sand blaster that is what i use all the time cleans them up good as new

+1

Do a pull, turn off the motor (at peak torque or at the top of your powerband) and post pictures.
