Is it possible to put in too much MTF in a B-series tranny case? I found a hole on top to pour the fluid inside the tranny instead of from the bottom. Will any damage occur?

 

are you talking about removing the speed sensor? thats what i did when i replaced my axles. i stuck a long funnel down there and filled it with 2.5 qts of MTF. i read on a write-up that B-series take 2.5 qts. dumped that in there, replaced the speed sensor and i was done just like that

now that i think about it, i think i was supposed to remove a rubber 'breather' cap before i filled it through the speed sensor hole, but i didn't. oh well, she drives like normal so i don't think it mattered too much. i'll remember next time.

 

can't you just fill it up until it spills outta the hole on the side?

...u can do that too...or bring out flashlight and look into hole

 

Filling it till the fluid is at the edge of the hole by the axle is acutally the proper level.
