Did you wire up wire sensor? P72s have knock boards.

hmm, not sure what you mean. Heres the deal, I bought the swap ready for my hb. I got a chipped p28 with it but turned out to be te wrong ecu for this motor (it was chipped for a gsr). But the vtec would kick in at 6700 rpm and I didnt get any codes. Then I traded for a obd1 p13 and it ran to rich so I traded for a p72 that I have now and it runs pretty good. I dont hear any knocking but feels like it kinda bougs sometimes and getting code 23 and no vtec.

i have an jdm h22a and for the last year i've run a stock p28, i bought a chipped p13 but it just ran too rich and the vtec was too high, no rev limiter. I like the p28 better. next week i'm installing a wideband O2 and vafc. then we'll see whats really up....

I thought the stock p28 would hurt the h22a?

I tried checking the wiring to the knock sensor with a test light and im not getting any power with the car on at all. Would that mean anything or is the test light useless on that wire?

Did you check the flux capacitor?

You run a stock P28 on an H22 with no problems? You smoking crack? You don't think that maybe the fuel tables for a 1.6 might be just a TOUCH too lean for a 2.2l? Jesus...

What? No. Is the knock sensor hooked up? Is it pinned correctly? Do you get the code right away, or does it take a while to come on?

Chipped p28, relax!

I tried jumping the knock sensor tonight and it still lit up. Im pretty sure I have the right wire but not positive. The code takes a moment to come on. When it gets warmed up or pretty much right away when its already warm. Would it be actual knocking or does the code just mean the sensor is bad?

First thing I would do is make sure the knock sensor wired is actually and properly hooked up the to the right ecu location. Even though the swap is prepped for your hb, you still need to run the wire from knock sensor to the ecu. After you checked that out, and everything is properly wired, then I would check with the knock sensor itself. Remove it and try it with a different ks.
