Default Some Help

Well, I just got a car from my parents, well I have to pay insurance and other stuff...

Well my car is a '97 Honda Accord Special Edition..

I have a few problems with it .

1) It burns alot of gas
2) When I have the AC off it still works , any reason y it's on while i have it set to off?

I really like this car... With some work I can have this car, looking tight...

If I can get those problems fix, I would like to place some rims, vertical suicide doors, new paint, get something for it to stop rusting, tints, and a full body Kit...

Altogether that'll prolly cost like $5-6 Grand . I would like to buy the parts and do all the fixes altogether, b/c I think when u do the suicide doors, there's gonan be some paint remove for making modification on it...

Just common knowledge, but just because your ac is off, doesnt mean that the air is off. The fan or whatever?. I dunno if this is true or not so.

I'll take a shot at this.

Maybe that's just the way you drive. What are you comparing the consumption of fuel to?

It's normal. Forget about it.

You could maybe ask your parents if it did this when they had it.

Increased fuel consumption is most likely due to a clogged egr. Also on the AC it is probably not still running when you turn it off it is just the continuation of the cold air in the system flowing through it. I would suggest doing all your maintenance first and then looking at when you really want out of the car. vertical doors are pretty played out and are pointless on a daily driver, but if that is what you like then more power to you. However you won't be able to use your back doors if you have then vertical and suicide.

First off start by doing a tune up: New plugs, wires, cap and rotor. This will greatly improve your gas milage, especially if it hasn't been done in a very long time. As far as the AC goes it may just be blowing cold air from outside. Turn the temp to hot and turn it on it should get really hot if not it's staying on and you need look at something else.
