how do you disable the antennae?
You can take the back pice of plastic panel out I think thats the one... And you should be able to reach in there towards the antenna and just feel for a plug and unplug it.. Thats what I did anyways and it worked, but its been awhile so i cant remeber exactly if I took more than just the rear panel off or the side one off too..
there is a power wire that comes out of your deck..thats how the antenna knows when to go up and down. detach that wire and your set...i have to look at my car agian to look for that wire...been a while
The easiest way unless you already can take off your head unit pretty easily is like what GS-Racer said. Just take off the back panel, probably harder for the coupes, and unplug the power/signal wire thats plugged into the antenna. Or while you're at it, intall a new s2000 antenna.

Have you noticed any decrease in radio reception after installing the S2000 antenna? It looks like it might hamper the signal or something.

Unfortunately yes. I can't pick up weaker stations as well, and strong stations fade out earlier when leaving town than they do w/ the stock antenna. Not sure yet what to do about it.
Tony! Long time no see (I used to be on the Camry forum)! I got the S2K antenna, too.
How much does it cost after all the parts to do the S2000 antenna conversion?
I was just going to shave the antenna b/c in all honest, i don't listen to the radio much, and the antenna looks HORRIBLE on an integra. It towers over the entire car, becomes bent the first time you head down the highway with the radio on, and is just another thing to break in the winter when stuff starts freezing.

With the S2K antenna your reception isn't as good. You CAN arrange the wire in a way that it is almost as effective as the stock one, but its a trial and error thing.
just connect a switch between your antenna fuse and antenna wire from the deck. Now you can turn it off and on whenever you want.
either find the power wire at the back of your unit or in behind the plastic panel in the boot, I done it at the back of the stereo unit. Cut the power wire and splice in a lenght of electrical wire, long enough to bring out to your dash. then put an in line toggle switch on that wire so that you can cut the power going to the antenna when ever you want.
