Help : Air leaking noise when I turn my teg off
I just replaced my alternator. After I did I noticed everytime I turn off my car near the alternator there is a noise that sounds like a leak in the tire. But after about 10 seconds it just stops. It does it everytime I drive. I know its not the tire. I took off the top powersteering line, and the brake master cylinder off. Anyone got any ideas what the noise is?
Its never made it before. Its on the driver side right above the alternator. It doesnt sound like its the brake booster or whatever it sounds like its lower. I just cant figure it out.

Its a 95 LS. It does it when its running also I noticed today. Everything seems the same, my brakes work just fine, it idles just normal. I think its under the IM. Its not the Cold air.

Try to get at it from several differend angles, while someone else sits inside to turn off the engine. Pinpointing the location would be the biggest help at this point.
I think any of the vacuum things would not last more than a second after turning off the engine. That's why the brake booster would be a possibility. (IAB reservoir too, if it was a GSR.) I don't think your car has a vacuum reservoir for the ventilation dampers, either. AC refrigerant flowing after shutdown? Do you have AC turned on?

No the A/C is not on. I sounds to be below the intake manifold, and its below the brake booster. Im still cant find it. In terms of sound, its not really loud. Its about as loud as the the intake but its a lot higher pitched.

Take off the PS belt to see if that makes the noise go away.
