no, is not the knock sensor. Is something in the valvetrain components as it seems to sound at a frequency half of the rotation of the engine. Anyone experienced help.

not sure wut ticking sound ur talkin about but my cousin had a lsvtec that everytime when he revs, it makes a wierd sound like a valve or somethin but it turns out it was his rod bearings that was the problem.
Where do you hear the noise ? I had a ticking noise on my R, I did alot of searching on where the it was coming from. Come to find out it was a sensor on the firewall that actually ticks. If you put your hand on it, you will feel the tick. I think the top of the sensor says "DENSO" and has 2 or 3 wires going to the Intake Mani. Hope this helps
i dont mean to be a dick, but why do you put a combo like that together...an si block isnt meant to rev up any higher than 8000 rpms.sure its only 500 more, but arent you afraid of blowing your **** up?
stock exhaust manifold or header? b16's are famous for alot of noise from the exhaust side, it can be misleading sounds almost like valves that need to be adjusted, and the injector will also make noise if there older, mine have like 140k miles on them and got really load, i took them to boach and had them flowed and cleaned for 12$ a peice and they were silent after that.
I do notice ticks but I thought they were normal, could be the pcv or just the injectors. I do know that when I accidently put 87 octane in, it did tick louder. And from what I heard the b16a's are recommended for 91-up octane
