Default "HELP" is this a big problem!

i am going to purchase this type r its a 1999 from canada, but there is one problem and this is what he said;

(The engine has a knock which was fixed by tightening the timing belt after the camshaft install, but the timing belt is believed to be loose again and thats the reason for the knock. WE have not yet tuned the cams or checked the engine)

what he put in the car was this skunk 2 camshaft, and skunk 2 cam sprokets. since that has happened is the engine basically ruined or will i still be okay if i get that fixed any help will be very greatful thanks.

Well you'd really have to hear the sound to make any sort of diagnosis. It could be rod knock, but more likely could be valve tap. He probably didn't know how to properly tighten the timing belt after he put the new cams in.

umm, don't the b18c5's have a auto tensioner like the h22a4's??
I may be wrong. But if they do, then the auto tensioner could be faulty. (Problem with 5th gen preludes).

Dont' buy it!!! Unless you are getting it for practically nothing. Could have ruined something while it was knocking.
