Default went to the track after i thought i fixed my car

I have a 2000 gs-r...i'm on stock suspenion....hankook all season tires...i have a dc sports 4-2-1 header with stock piping adn a shitty obx muffler that i got for free as well as the header...i havea short ram intake.. an aem fuel rail with b&m fuel pressure regulator and i did a tune up not to long ago cause my 60k manitence came up... and my first run was a 15.326 at 92.46 and my 60ft was a 2.38....should i be running faster?? I know my driivng isnt that great cause i'm still getting used to the car but i would think that i would beable to atleast get a 14.9, my friend ran a 14.9 with just a comptech short ram intake...ne suggestions? thanks

Ah it happens Angel, kids around here a total ******** when it comes to an honest question. With better tires you will probably net better times, all seasons arent the best for drag racing. Perhaps you would benefit from a full catback exhaust and a test pipe for track days. My friend in his lude Si took a few tenths off his quarter mile time with those mods. Suspension might also help you out, stiffer springs will help your car from bucking under hard shifts, I know my car accelerated so much better after putting springs and shocks on. Most importantly, practice your launches and your times will definitely go down.

I think those #'s are fairly normal from what i've seen, just get to know you car better and im sure you can hit a 14.9.

Well it sounds like your technique is pretty much on the money, you have launching down pretty well. You just need a catback, cause that stock piping is killing you.

Best bang for your buck would probably be some Ground Control Coilovers with KYB AGX Or if you got the cash, full omnipower coilovers

i was thinking of going for teh neuspeed sports and kyb gr-2s, basil said he liked that set-up on his car..he said it was a nice ride and it looked really good...i'm not looking to be like a drag racer or nething i just want to lower my car for the street adn ocasioanlly go to teh track from time to time once i install mods and such...i eman i've heard of very good things about omnipower adn what not i ahvea couple friends with that set-up but i'm just looking for the simple mods like a spring and strut combo as i stated above.

At least get AGX's cause they have adjustable settings, the GR-2's are basically a stock replacement. I have AGX's on my car, and I love them.

upgrade suspension and you'll reach your goal of 14.9 or 14.8

maybe you'll even surpass that number.

remember...a car without suspension does not go anywhere.
