Default slow 1/4 mile times

i have a 99 si with skunk2 intake manifold, aem intake short ram, aem power pulleys, dc sports 4-1 headers, and a type r intake cam, i ran the car bone stock 15.8, now it is running 16.0, the car has no fuel management system, would this be causing the slower times, any help would be greatful

Have you ever reset your ecu. If you do it might respond to your mods better. good luck

Any Cels? and what condition is your clutch in? Octane rating of fuel you were running? there are alot of variables that would result in such a crappy time. And yes those times are crappy.

reaction time has nothing to do with 1/4 mile time... You can sit at that light for a minute then take off and still run the same 1/4 mile

Eleventeen billion million trillion percent Correct. Its funny how people rush to get out of the Hole thinking that they will be faster, but in fact they probably mess up there launch, get way to much tire spin, cause they dont concentrate on driving.

sorry to say, but 15.6 would be horrible in a stock Si less all your mods.

once again, DRIVER ERROR you should be in the 14's with those mods.

give us some details on your slip so everyone can give suggestions on if its driver error or car tune problems. everyone is jumping on the "drivers error" thing without all the info

maybe cuz you have too many headers on your car

plus, stock si clutches suck, maybe with the more miles you've put on the car since you've last run it have made it worse.

yeah, take off some of those headers!

on a serious note, it is probably driver error. try letting a friend run it down the track.

Reaction-.556
I1-2.612
I2-7.017
I3-10.569
I4-13.605
E.T-16.188
MPH-87.409

With that run I had a better 60 foot time than the other car, it was ran at sacramento raceway the same place as the 15.8, 91 octane gas, yes stock clutch, it was the 2nd of three runs all in the 16.1 range, if I dont know how to race then atleast Im consistent. I usually dissconnect the negative cable and let the car run at idle for 15 minutes after each mod.

yeah... my d series puts like 93HP to the wheels and I can get 16.8, so I would definately blame the driver. What tires are you running?

Those times are bad but you are also dealing with 2800lbs car with a passenger in it. So maybe you need to loose some weight on it to run better consistent numbers.
