Default 99 civic dx which harness??? please help

Hi I'm newly registered but have been reading forever. I've tried searching but couldn't get a straight answer. I know its probably pretty easy but I just want to make sure.

I'm doing a swap, 96 gsr into a 99 ek. Question is, do I use a 96-98 civic ex harness so that it will plug into the 96 ecu or the 99-00 si harness and buy an obd2b to obd2a harness adapter so that the 96 gsr ecu will work. I also need to know if the 96-98 harness will plug right into the 99 ek without any problems.

Thanks ahead of time.

No, you need a 99-00 civic harness for it to be plug and play. The chassis plugs do not match up between 96-98 and 99-00. You can reuse your DX and mad it to fit/work on the GSR or buy a 99-00 EX or SI harness. The SI will be the must plug and play.
