on-car rotor resurfacing
My car shakes whenever i apply the brakes, which leads me to think it is the rotors that are warped or pitted. I have to replace my pads soon aswell.
Here is what i am thinking. I dont want to put new rotors on, cause then i run the risk of damaging the bearings, so i want to take the car to a shop that can resurface them on the car. Do honda dealerships do this? Also, should i put the new pads in before i take it to the shop, or after i take it to the shop? Would any shop even do this for me without doing a complete brake job? i want to pay them as little money as possible.
How many times can stock rotors be resurfaced? After resurfacing, are the rotors more succeptable to surface corrosion?
many thanks.

honda dealers can do it. i work for toyota, and i did mine after work one night. it was easier. the only thing was after 6,000 miles and slowing down from 110 a couple of times they got warped fast. i put on brembo slotted and hawk hp plus pads. i had no problems with the bearings, i got lucky.
Yeah, I've seen the maintenance shop for Hertz resurface rotors while still on the car. I got a decent look at the equipment, and I'm pretty sure I saw similar, if not identical, equipment at the service center over at Honda.
Generally, you can only resurface rotors once, but it'll depend on how worn the rotors are. Resurfaced rotors shouldn't corrode any more than new ones.

Just remove the rotors yourself and bring them over.
