Flexpipe Leak + Code 12
So these are the conditions.
Would the leak cause the lean O2(edit: actually EGR Code)? If not would a leak shorten the life span of a new O2?
I need to decide if I need to fix the leak before I fix the 02.
Thanks a million
Matt

Fix the leak, reset the ecu, see if the o2 is still being thrown *could be just temp, because the leak is causing it to work improperly*, if the o2 code is still being thrown, replace it... thats what id do anyway... if u just get a new o2 and no leak fix, ur just going to ruin that o2 as well... and besides that fact, who <u>wants</u> to run with a leak anyway =d

Who told you that?
I've had my flexpipe replaced 3 times. It's a 30 part and takes 20 mintues to remove the old busted one and install the new one. Should be less than 100 parts and labor at any muffler shop.
You do NOT need to replace the header , whoever told you that is an *******.

Well then, your stealership is just like every other stealership - a rip off.
You can clean out your ERG valve with carb cleaner man. Simple fix, it's probably just clogged.

Ok, so I cleaned out my EGR valve and it seems to have fixed the problem.
So, if anyone has intermittent code 12's try this out. When I removed the EGR and sucked the vacume hose w/ my mouth it didn't move. This could be ok, but after I cleaned it out it opened totally.
So thanks for the heads up on the exhaust, and especially the idea on cleaning the EGR out.
