For those of you pushing 200+whp and or 12.0:1+ compression,........What kind of ignition system are you guys using if ANY. I will be running a hondata system on my setup and was told that I won't be needing an aftermarket ignition system. Hondata is suppose to be able to control my ignition, as I was told.

I'm running a pretty good setup with a 12.5:1 compression and hopefully get 200+whp. I just want to get everybodies opinion about this. Thanks

OEM

I just have a set of MSD wires, and an MSD Soft touch Rev limit.

I've never used anything but OEM and OEM has always been good enough.

Wow, that's great. That would save me money from buying a MSD or Crane ignition system. I heard that an aftermarket ignition system is needed if you were running very high boost or very high compression, even with the Hondata. But if the Hondata can do the job with my setup then for me

i've pushed the stock ignition, even stock sized NGK wires to about 650whp. however, putting on an MSD ignition, cap, and coil, netted another 35whp.

Yeap, same here. A friend of mine had a Prelude with a turbo kit in it and the guys at the dyno shop told him that his ignition wasn't stong enough to to pust out 14 psi. He was not running the Hondata though.

Anybody else running stock ignition with all motor 200+whp or 12.0:1+ compression?

Yea I just built a ls/vtec with 12.5/1 compression, and I did tons of research about it, Honda Ignition holds up, no MSD needed.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to stick with the stock ignition with the Hondata system. I'll probably run MSD or NGK wires but that's it. Hope everything works out for me. Thanks again.
